Lighting Strike Recorder (LSR1)

Avail from us the lighting strike recorder that effectively count strikes captured by the guardian system or received by the lighting conductors. It operates by sensing current by means of an inductive pick up loop with the voltage impulse detected by the current transformer. The main purpose of the recorder is to record the number of strikes captured by the lightning terminal and conveyed by the down conductor. Tested on various quality parameters, it is in conformation with IEC & VDE Standard, CPRI and UL Certification and cater to defense, telecom, railways and heavy engineering industry.

Lightning Warning System
Lightning Warning System

We are offering lightning warning systems which are non-directional local detection instruments designed to provide early warning of an approaching storm front that contains lightning discharges. These are controlled by microprocessor which ensures concise easily understood alarms; it provides an alarm situation when the internal analysis of prevailing conditions indicates the approach of lightning. The salient features are as follows: • Early detection of lightning activity within 15km • Alert alarm signaled when lightning approaches within 8-10 km • All Clear siren once the storm has passed • Data collection via download • It has been designed to give warning to personnel that lightning may occur within the area • The system antenna senses alterations in the electric field strength and also detects both near and far lightning discharges • An alarm is triggered when either the static field changes or when a far or nearby lightning discharge is detected • Two levels of alarm status are provided by the system

Lightning Strike Recorder (LSR1)
We are involved in supplying lightning strike recorder that is simply a counter mounted at any lightning event or any location along with the down conductor route. It is used to record the number of strikes captured by the lightning terminal and conveyed by the down conductor.

The LSR is appreciated for :

  • The loop passes along the inside surface of the bottom of the enclosure.
  • The Recorder is mounted in a polycarbonate enclosure rated IP 67.
  • It operates by sensing current by means of an inductive pick up loop.
  • With the voltage impulse detected by the current transformer (CT) a trigger to the pulse counter then turns the counter over to register the event.
  • 6 Digits display.
  • Testable using LSR-Tester.
  • Up to 999999 counts.
  • Operating range: Min. 1500A and Max. 220kA 8/20μs.
  • Current Sensitivity: 1500A 8/20μs impulse.

Conventional Lightning Protection System
Conventional Lightning Protection System

We are providing our clients with conventional Lightning Protection System which are in compliance with International Standards such as IEC 62305, British Standard BS EN 62305 and Australian / New Zealand Standard AS/NZ 1768-2007. These are easy to install and assemble owing to precision manufacturing. The wide range includes air terminals, bases, conductors, connectors and fasteners. The principle components of these are as follows: Air Termination Network: The main purpose of an air terminal or air termination network is to capture the lightning strike to a preferred point. It ensures that the discharge current can be safely directed via the down conductors to the dedicated earthing system. Down Conductors: The down conductors provide a low impedance path from the air termination to the earthing system so that the lightning current can be safely conducted to earth without the development of excessively large voltages. The routes of Down conductor should be as direct as possible to earth, avoiding sharp bends or turns so as to minimize the risk of side flashing where impedance / inductance is increased under impulse conditions. Earthing System Every down conductor must have a separate earthing system with provision made for the disconnection of each down conductor from the earthing system for testing purposes. The resistance to earth of the lightning protection system measured at any point should be less than 10 ohms as per the industrial standards. It is recommended that all individual lightning earths be bonded together to minimize earth voltage potential rise, in turn all lightning earths should be bonded to surrounding facility earths. Bonding to avoid Side flashing All metal work should include handrails, metal cladding, metal roofs, water pipes, gas pipes, air conditioning units be bonded to the lightning protection system.
